| To an
adopted child |
| |
| Not flesh of
my flesh, |
| Nor bone of
my bone, |
| But still,
miraculously, my own |
| Never forget
for a single minute, |
| You didn't
grow under my heart, |
| But in it. |

Who are we?
The
Adoption Society at Margaret House
is an accredited non-profit organisation (NPO 000694),
situated in Johannesburg. It was started more than 50
years ago by the Catholic Womens League of the
Diocese of Johannesburg but has grown and changed over
the years to meet the needs of all racial, cultural and
religious groups. We are now able to provide a full range
of very affordable services to
both adoptive families and birth parents.
Margaret
House is a warm and friendly home - a place where quality
counsellors and trained volunteers are down to earth
people with years of experience, who are always available
to take your call, with advice or help, immediately
on hand.
Our
social workers are professional and have a high degree of
ethics. Their experience and insight covers all aspects
of adoption, including decisional counselling, to
pregnant women, birthmothers, adopters and adoptees.
The
interests of the children are always of paramount
importance throughout the adoption process. A
history of very satisfied clients bears testimony to a
real desire in building long standing relationships with
solid and happy families.
